Ever since I was a wee lad I loved to draw and sketch. The older me only recently have realised that that passion of mine could be turned from something fun into something profitable yet often still fun. My personal drawing style and technique, like many others, has very distinct and unapologetic features, and I understand that it simply cannot be used for everything, which is why I’ve learned to adapt it to client’s needs. If you scroll all the way down you’ll see the wide range of my illustrations.
I was fortunate enough to work with Marek Pavala and Fuego Cartel on illustrations for their cookbook "Fuego". It was a wonderful experience, and the book came out well worth its praise.
Next year I got to design a cover for Marek’s next book called “Make Home Cooking Great Again”, which is all about ballet and porcelain dolls. It took us a couple of months to pinpoint the idea and settle on the details, but in the end, we got this giant beautiful mess of a panel that we're both very proud of. The book's also turned out pretty great -- or so they say, I can barely read.
For a long time now I’ve been working on a book of my own. It’s about old Moldovan folklore and the mythical creatures it explores. During this project, I’ve got to try on many hats — designer, copywriter, illustrator, animator etc.
Here's a little charity project I got to be a part of. It was a calendar for the Czech Club for Cystic Fibrosis. They've asked 12 of their members what they would do if they weren't affected by the illness, and got 12 different illustrators to portray their responses. I've picked Šimon who's dreaming of becoming a fantastic crime solver.
// A bit more silly and colourful //
These are some of the many stickers I've created for B&T agency's new Brand Identity. Some less honest people described them as "definitely quite unique" or "maybe let's not use them?".
